The Urgent Care Unit Team

The Urgent Care Unit is staffed by our team of Advanced Care Practitioners, all of whom have a prescribing qualification.

WALK IN ONLY service for urgent, on the day appointments at Brackley Medical Centre.

If you have a new, urgent issue that needs an on the day appointment you will no longer need to call the surgery.

Please come down to BMC between Monday – Friday, 9.00-11.00 and 14.30-16.30.

You will be seen by one of our Urgent Care Unit Clinicians. Please note there may be a wait and patients may not be seen in the order they arrive. If your issue is not new or urgent you may wait, but the Clinician may ask you to rebook a routine appointment.

Please bear with us as we make these changes which we will keep under review. Please treat our staff with respect. 

Urgent Care Unit Staff

Clare
Clare joined the ambulance service in 2005 as a paramedic and joined BMC as and advanced paramedic in 2017. Clare now manages the Urgent Care Unit team, is qualified in non-medical prescribing at masters level and has advanced skills in both minor illness and injury. Clare has a special interest in dermatology.

Abi
Abi studied pharmacology at Bath University and then went on to study adult nursing at Cardiff University, qualifying in 2017 as a registered nurse. Abi came to BMC in 2018 after working on the transplant unit at the Churchill. Abi is qualified in non-medical prescribing at masters level and has advanced skills in both minor illness and injury. Abi’s main area of interest is women’s health issues.

Tara
Tara qualified from Oxford Brookes 2013 and joined BMC in 2020 following a senior role in district nursing.  Tara has an interest in respiratory disease and management. Tara is qualified in non-medical prescribing at masters level and has skills in advanced history taking.

Sophie
Sophie gained her Adult Nursing qualification from Oxford Brookes University in 2009. She spent the majority of her career working in the Emergency Department, so has experience of acute illness and injury.  Sophie joined the BMC team in 2021 and is qualified in non-medical prescribing.
